system to use the Google Adwords feature to unlock those Google
Adsense riches on your website and have probably handed over the
$30 to $60 to find out the secret system. Well this article has
been written to expose the myths behind these so called systems
and to warn people that the results will be very disappointing.

Google Adsense Fact

The major problem with these systems is they try to blind you
with a massive list of high paying keywords which Google Adword
bidders supposedly pay for certain keywords and your focus is to
try and concentrate your efforts on including these keywords on
your website page, so the Google Adsense can put these high
paying Google ads on your site, therefore increase your click

AdSense Paying You Jack? I Make $11,269 Per Month, Here's How..

First off - let's just get this straight, I have only been using
AdSense for around 8 months. I've learned very quickly that
there are certain things you need to get right to start earning
the big bucks with AdSense.

But this wasn't always the case for me - when I first started I
was earning around $2 a day, that was it! But before long I kept
tweaking, testing, learning and observing others and I soon
started to climb the AdSense earnings ladder very quickly.

My monthly earnings from Google AdSense now exceed $11,000. I am
in the so-called 'UPS' club - which got its name for those
publishers that earn such big checks from Google they get sent
their pay via UPS special delivery. As it happens I actually get
paid direct into my bank account which is really cool as I know
that at the end of every month I'm getting a whopping amount of
cash direct from Google Towers.

So How Do I Do It?

Well, it really comes down to focusing on the basics. Once
you've got these things mastered you will be well on your way.
The first thing is the right ad format. Think about it - you can
have loads of traffic to loads of pages on your website but if
nobody likes the look of your ads then you can forget it. So you
need to experiment with what ad format works best for your
website.

Getting formats and colour schemes that blend in with your

Oodles of Sexy Content

The second thing you need, once you've learned what the best ad
format is - is to get loads of great content on your website.
Content is king as everyone keeps saying right? Well it's true.
The more content you can have on your website the greater your
chances of attracting potential buyers and AdSense clickers.
When you're looking for content don't always assume you have to
write it yourself - there are plenty of other great sources of
content and some nifty off-the-shelf packages you can get hold
of where all the articles are already written for you.

The Best Keywords and AdSense Key Phrases

The third thing you need to take care is key phrases. There's no
point in optimizing your website for crappy keywords that only
get you a few cents per AdSense click when you could be making
dollars per click instead.

It really annoys me that people think the idea of dollars for
one click is a myth - it's totally not. That's part of the
reason I'm making thousands from AdSense every week. I am
getting paid top dollar for some of the most highly bidded for
phrases around. So what you need is to do your research and get
your hands on those phrases that pay the most dollars per click.

Pulling It All Together

years. Affiliate programs offer merchants the opportunity to
employ vast armies of sales people who only get paid for the
results they achieve. Many beginners to affiliate marketing can

affiliate program I have been involved with and researched comes
complete with a website all ready set up to take orders. They
even come with sales letters and ads that you can use.

The rewards for affiliates are high also, and the skilled
affiliate marketer can earn many thousands of dollars a month.
This win-win situation has led to an explosion in the number of
affiliate programs that are available to the would-be marketer.
With this increase of opportunities has come many questions; how
do you go about choosing the right opportunity for you? What
qualities should you look for in a program and which gives you a
good chance of making a sustainable income?

Below are some tips that will help you to evaluate merchants and
their programs, and help you to avoid wasting time and money.

1. How Much Commission Does The Merchant Pay? This may seem
obvious, but it is very important that you know how much you can
expect to earn from a sale. There is no point in spending time
and money promoting a product that doesn't pay well. You could
end up spending more on marketing than you are likely to make on
sales. It is probably best to stick with marketing products with
a high commission value, unless you have found a niche market
where you can sell vast quantities of product, and make
substantial commissions on your volume of sales. I recommend
sticking with programs that offer at least a 50% commission.

2. How Much Traffic is the Merchant's Website Getting? Try to
discover the amount of traffic the merchant's website is already
receiving. Alexa.com could be a useful tool for doing this
research. If the website is ranked in the top 100,000, the
merchant is getting a good volume of traffic, and there may
already be too many affiliates. If it is ranked below 500,000 it
is either no good or it could just be a golden opportunity to
make some real money! Always research a merchant's product if
their website has a low traffic ranking. It may be a good idea
to buy the product yourself if you can afford to. Otherwise you
could do a search to find out if there are any adverse comments
about it on the internet. If all is well and the product is
good, you may have found a gold mine!

3. How Often Are Commissions Paid? Some merchants pay
commissions every week; some once a month, others only pay every
quarter. It is important that you know how often you can expect
a pay check if you are going to have financial control over your
business. Do you have the financial resources to continue to
market a product if you have to wait a long time before you get
paid?

It would also be wise to find out the minimum commission that
you have to earn before you get paid. Some affiliates don't send
your money until you accumulate a certain amount. What I like
are the affiliates that pay as soon as a sale is made. They are
the only programs I promote and recommend. I don't like to wait
for my money.

4. Does The Company Use Tracking Cookies? Many customers do not
buy on their first visit to a merchant's website. It is
important therefore that the merchant uses cookies on their
site, so that you get credit if the customer returns and buys at
a later date. Check out how long the cookies last. The longer
the cookies lasts; the better the chance of getting paid! I also
like to cloak the URL of my affiliates. This way the link is
changed and you are certain that you won't lose your
commissions.

5. Does The Merchant Pay On Subsequent Sales? The best time to
learn about affiliate marketing is before you're in the thick of
things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable
affiliate marketing experience while it's still free.

Some merchants will only pay commission on sales that come
through customers visiting their site via a direct link from
your site. They pay you nothing for any subsequent purchases
that the customer makes if they visit the merchants site
directly. It is important that you get paid no matter what route
the customer returns by if you are to build a sustainable
business.

6. What Promotional Resources Does The Merchant Offer? Look at
the type and quality of the promotional material that they
provide for there affiliates Do they provide articles or content
that you can use to promote them on your site or free guides,
special offers or samples? If the promotional resources are good
it is likely that the merchant will provide good support for
their affiliates. I also like to write my own ads for the
affiliates I promote.

Sometimes you will get a better response using your own ads. If
the affiliate program you are marketing has been around a long
time, it's likely all the ads that come with the program have
been seen over and over again. Fresh ads will have your reader
think it's a new product.

Affiliate marketing can be a very lucrative business and an
excellent starting point for anyone new to internet marketing.
Finding the right merchant can be a tricky business. The best
advice is to do your own research. Use the above questions as an
aid to finding a merchant that enables you to reach your
financial goals. You never know - You could strike gold!

Tips for Improving AdSense Performance

Tear Down the Borders

Remove borders on your AdSense ads. Web visitors eyes wander
around the screen; borders stop them from wandering.

Removing borders from your AdSense ads can lead to a significant
boost in CTR.

Use Matching Fonts

Match the font of your site content to the fonts of your AdSense
ads.

Use Matching Colors

Match the colors of your AdSense ads to the colors of your site
content. Make the ads look like content and more visitors will
look at them.

One exception to the color matching rule is sites that are
designed to appeal to scammers and spammers. Those sites
sometimes perform better with highly contrasting colors.

Use Blue Links

Another exception to the color matching rule is to set the links
in your AdSense ads to blue. Blue links tend to have a higher
CTR than other link colors, because people have become used to
clicking blue links.

Use Large Ads

Larger ads outperform smaller ads. Wider ads also outperform
more narrow ads.

The Large Rectangle (336x280) is the best performing ad unit.

Use Lots of Ads

Google allows you to use three ad units and one link unit on
each page.

Use them all. The more ads you have, the higher your Page CTR
will be.

Place Ads Above the Fold

"The fold" is industry jargon for "the part of the page that the
user sees without scrolling down". This will vary depending upon
the resolution of the users screen and the size of their browser
window.

Place as many ads as possible above the fold. Ads placed below
the fold are seldom seen and seldom clicked.

Place Ads on the Left

Web users are accustomed to seeing menus on the left side of the
web page. Move your menu to the right and place your AdSense ads
on the left.

Use the Heat Map

Use the Google AdSense Heat Map to determine where to place ads.
The darker spots are areas where users spend more time looking.
Place your ads in the darker areas.

Integrate Ads with Content

Visitors will be reading your content. Keeps your ads as close
to your content as possible to ensure that the visitors also
look at your ads.

Use Custom Channels

Use AdSense's Custom Channels to test the performance of
different ad sizes, placements, colors and fonts.

Don't use Low-Paying Competing Ads

Don't clutter your page with competing ads that don't pay. If a
user clicks on an ad that pays you $.01, they are not clicking
on an ad that pays you $.30.

Use URL Channels

Use AdSense URL Channels to determine which pages are making you
the highest CTR, CPM, and earnings. Focus your efforts on
building pages like those.

Use an AdSense Reporting Package

Google only supports 200 channels. If you have more than 200
pages, use AdSense reporting software to give you more
insight into your AdSense earnings.

Don't Compete for Other Peoples High Paying Keywords

If a keyword is on a list of high-paying keywords, that means
that thousands of spammers are already competing for that
keyword.

Don't be a follower. There is no money in being one of the crowd.

Do Compete for Your Own High Paying Keywords

Monitor your AdSense URL channels to determine which keywords
are making you the most money. Compete for those keywords. Build
more pages optimized for similar keywords. Get inbound links for
those keywords. Spend your time and efforrt on the keywords
which are making you money.

Increase Traffic

In the long run, the best way to increase your AdSense revenue

buying online media, you must be willing to shift your marketing
dollars to the online methods that produce a positive return.

To be successful at Internet marketing, you must understand the
essential secrets of Internet marketing. These secrets can allow
you to achieve success by finding the right audience,
communicating your message properly, and leading consumers down
the path to purchase. These secrets include:

1. Website Directory Listings. Before you begin any marketing
campaign, make sure that the website you're promoting has been
listed in the common directories such as DMOZ, Yahoo!, and
Google. Even if you're using a marketing page off of the root
directory of your website, be sure that the primary site is
listed. This ensures that prospects can continue to find your
marketing pages long after you've launched your campaign.

2. Generating Traffic. In order to realize a return on your

Make Money Online With Affiliate Programs

Broadly speaking, affiliate program seems including everything,
no matter as hot as pay per click advertising or as old as pay
per impression or pay per sale or lead marketing. So, it is true
that all businesses, no matter big or small, are making money
online with affiliate programs. The doubt is only how to select
suitable affiliate programs to make money.

What is a partner? What is an affiliate? A partner is an
associate who works with others toward a common goal. An
affiliate is a subsidiary or subordinate organization that is
affiliated with another organization. It seems the difference is
there but the basic meaning is the same - for sharing benefit.

For home base business, affiliate programs have huge advantages:
1. no hustle and be your own boss; 2. with low or even no cost
to set up; 3. no hard task to deal with, such as customer
service, shipping or inventory management; 4. high income
potential and keep running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no
holiday no stop and sales everywhere.

Based on individual company's policy, there are some rules that
do not allow you to sign up all affiliate programs, such as PPC
search engines or gambling affiliate programs may be not
compatible. Meanwhile, you may know that every company has its
minimum payout and commission rate is different.

In my personal experience, I strongly recommend you sign up
third party for your affiliate programs. This will bring you two
major advantages: one is save your time; the other is collecting
your money together.

There is thousands of individual affiliate programs offered on
the internet, many being through third party affiliate program
networks such as ClickBank, Commission Junction, LinkShare. and so on. These
companies connect a large number of advertisers and publishers
together via their own network.

As a publisher, one registration gives you access to tens, even
hundreds of advertisers simultaneously. Tracking partner
performance is easy: there is only one technical support contact
and easier to manage, like only using one user id and one
password. The payment is received as your monthly revenue.
Another is third party check affiliate programs' credit and
reputation.

Payment thresholds can often be fairly high - a $50 US minimum
is common for international publishers. Finally, a payment delay
of two months or more from the date of a sale/lead generation
can occur often. Not mention some affiliate programs have been
known for not fairly treat affiliate to track sales and leads
properly as honestly as they could be. Not mention some
affiliate programs announce they are not responsible for missing
check. Can we ask whether they really send check?

For those big affiliate programs, like Google AdSense, Amazon,
you may participate directly with their affiliate programs.

How should you choose an individual affiliate program? My
suggestion is not to choose a affiliate program only according
to the payment scheme, but rather according to the kind of
people who are likely to visit your website, it means relevance.
For example, if you are targeting home based business on your
site, links to affiliate programs with school recruiting
program, text-books sale and the like may generate less revenue
than banners that link to paid survey companies. The most
important rule of choosing an affiliate program is to know your
target audience.

Another suggestion is not necessary to join every single
affiliate program that comes your way. Some gurus suggest that
sites that make the most money from affiliate programs are only
sign up a small amount of affiliate programs.

7 reasons adsense stats are killing your business and how you

Google adsense has to be the best thing to hit online business
since the invention of the internet. The service has allowed
average people and huge corporations alike to make a very decent
income online with very little trouble at all. Put in a little
effort to create a decent site that gets a little traffic and
you can be in the money. Make better sites with more traffic and
you can really rake in the cash.

However the key to any business success is to be able to track
where your business is coming from and how it is interacting
with your websites. Unfortunately the stats that google provides
for you in your adsense account are VERY weak. In fact they
provide just enough information to make it seem like you are
actually getting all the information you need to succeed. Sadly
that just isn't true.

In fact, relying on google's adsense stats could very well be
killing your business. Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm absolutely
NOT accusing google of doing anything wrong, far from it.
However the information they provide just isn't anywhere nearly
enough to let you make informed decisions about how to develop
your web business in the ways that are most profitable for you.
Below are explained some of the main reasons why relying on
google's adsense stats could be a critical business mistake. At
the end of the article we offer an explanation of what you can
do to 'rescue' yourself from adsense stat doom.

Here then are some of the critical elements missing from
google's adsense stats.

1) They provide only vague information. The stats only show page
impressions or #'s of ads loaded on a site. To get any kind of
precise information you need to set up channels for EVERY ad
unit you display on EVERY page of EVERY site. Not likely.

2) They are updated very slowly While it is getting faster,
stats are still on a delay. If you run a high traffic site and
want to test a change which turns out bad, you could stand to
lose hundreds of dollars in the hours that it takes google stats
to update.

3) You have NO IDEA what pages are generating revenue and which
aren't - As I said before, yes you can have channels for
specific pages, but if you have a site with more than a few
dozen pages it becomes a HUGE hassle, and if you have several
sites with several hundred pages each...well it just doesn't
work. So there you are spending hours and cash getting traffic
to certain sections of your site, but you have no real idea if
that section is actually generating revenue without resorting to
the clunky channel system.

4) You have NO WAY TO KNOW what ads are being clicked. Lets face
it you want to have people clicking on ads that pay you the
most, not the ones that are paying out .05/click. But you can't
get this info from your adsense stats. Without this info how can
you possibly 'block' low paying ads from showing on your site
with your adsense 'competitors' block list. And if you don't
block these..well google's got to serve the ads to someone, and
they're very happy to send you the .05c/click ads.

5) It is IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL where your traffic is coming from
and what it is doing on your site. - Oh sure you can look at
your web stats, but there is absolutely no way to match that to
your adsense stats. Perhaps your stats show that you are getting
lots of referral traffic from www.somedomain.com, but how can
you tell if they are actually clicking on your ads. If they
aren't that traffic isn't really worth anything.

6) Visitor behaviour is unknown. You have no way of telling if
your adsense revenue is coming from a few active visitors who
click several ads on several pages or if it is coming from
single clicks from every visitor. Why does this matter? Well if
only 1% of your visitors actually click an ad (but they click
lots), you have 99% of your visitors that you have to 'convince'
to click at least something.

7) Content relevance of your pages. Do your pages show all the
ads possible, or is your content not relevant 'enough' to
qualify for full ad quota displays? You MUST know this
information. The less relevant your content means google will
send you fewer ads, or PSA ads just to fill the space. You ain't
gonna make much on PSA's (actually you make NOTHING).

There are other reasons why google adsense stats just aren't
enough, but I think the 7 above should be enough to make the
point. Rely on google's stats at your own expense.

This isn't the right place to go into a detailed explanation of
how to fix this cash killing problem. However it isn't all that
difficult to solve all these problems and more that come from
depending on google adsense stats. Simply said, all that is
required is to add a little code to your web pages that grabs
the extra essential information you need to be able to properly
and accurately track your adsense earnings. Getting your hands
on this vital information will let you see exactly what you need
to do to make a dramatic change in your adsense earnings.

A good money making Adsense site needs a number of elements in
place before it will succeed.

In the article below I discuss technical assets and techniques
you should be using. You should also consider the site design,
but that's a whole other article.

I've broken down the basics below -

1: Regular Content Updates

Ideally you are adding fresh, unique, keyword targeted content
to you site on a regular basis. Every few days at a minimum,
daily if possible.

The search engines will come back to your site more often, rank
it higher and in turn provide more traffic if you consistently
add fresh unique content.

A naturally growing site gets the search engines interested and
keeps them interested.

If you don't like to write or can't write then you can outsource
this chore to a third party.

On the other hand you can also use freely available articles
from the numerous article directories out there. This is not
ideal because the content is not unique and will most likely be
found on hundreds of other sites.

Another option is to use 'Private Label Rights' articles. These
are articles that you buy and use as starting point for your own
unique article. Essentially you re-write the PLR article. Don't
be tempted to use these as is, otherwise you may as well use the
article directories as your article source instead.

Which ever route you choose you should start with a good number
of pages on which to build.

You need to place your Adsense directly into the body copy of
each of your articles for the highest CTR (Click Through Rate).

2: Rotate Your Content

It's fine consistently adding new content but if your homepage
stays the same you're seriously missing out.

You should endeavour to have content rotate on a daily basis on
your homepage. This gives the impression of a site update. You
can do this by hand or you can have a script on your site rotate
content. I know which I

would choose. :)

In fact I have a script that chooses a random article from the
hundreds on my site and posts it automatically to my homepage
for 24hrs before selecting a new article and doing the same
again for the next 24hrs.

In essence to both visitors and the search engines my site is
updated daily. :)

3: RSS Feeds

To further make you site appear to update regularly you should
introduce a relevant RSS feed. I won't go into the details of
exactly what RSS is here. If you're not sure do a Google. :)

Basically you will get fresh relevant links appearing on your
site at regular intervals.

There are numerous site scripts available now to allow you to
show RSS feeds on your site. When you choose one make sure it is
either PHP, CGI or ASP. Don't use javascript!

The reason for this is that the above mentioned languages will
display the RSS feeds as HTML which the search engines read as
content.

Javascript will be ignored! It does not convert the feed to a
search engine friendly format which the above languages will do.

4: Place Your Adsense Ads

You must place your Adsense ads within the body of your article.
It's a proven fact that the area to the top right of the content
receives the highest CTR.

Beyond the body copy the next two hotspots are across the top of
the page and down the left hand side. The two areas that Net
users naturally look to for a sites navigation.

5: Place Your Ad Links Ads

The Google Ad Links ads have been found to work best when placed
either above or below the site navigation, again either across
the top or down the left hand side.

A further boost can be had by 'blending' the look of the ads
with your site navigation. By that I simply mean having your
navigation match the ads in both font type, size and colour.

Many Adsense publishers have experienced a large boost in
revenue after blending all there navigation to match their ads.

6: A Site Map

This is very important. Without a good site map to which you can
add your newly uploaded content the search engines will never
know you are updating your site. They'll never be able to find
the new content without a link going to it.

Be sure not to forget to update your site map each time you add
new site content.

are just two of a large group that is expanding daily.

Blog Feeds! RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and ATOM Feeds are
two of the dominant blog feeds. The object of a blog feed is to
distribute every new post you add to your blog to a list of
subscribers; you make your blog posts available to RSS or ATOM,
people who want to read your stuff on a regular basis can
subscribe to your posts and read them on a newsreader. The
latest trend is to include advertising to these blog feeds and,
as before, if your subscriber clicks on an ad that is included
with your feed, you get some money. There are no BIG bucks here
yet but its a rapidly growing field.

Affiliate Programs! Online companies have been offering
affiliate programs to bloggers for years, some of the big ones
are Amazon, Linkshare and Clickbank. They work by providing you
a unique URL that you add to your blog. Any readers that click
through to the company and buy something are providing you with
a commission. Another version of the affiliate program is the
"mini-mall" concept offered by companies such as Chitika
eMiniMalls. The mini-mall works (like the affiliate program),
through a link on your blog that takes your reader to a page
with a variety of merchandise -- all sales earn you a commission.

Sponsors! Large corporations are very aware of the blogosphere
and of the growing number of people who read blogs and, in
response, they are using blogs to advance their business
interests -- blogs may never replace the Michael Jordan-type
superstars for corporations but blogs are already gaining many
fairly lucrative corporate sponsorships. If you have a blog that
is dedicated to a particular topic, e.g., digital cameras, that
is published on a regular basis, that has a good readership and
is recognized as an authoritative source for digital camera

for new products on a long-term basis. If and when you reach
that point you know you've made it to the big time, professional
blogger's league.

time. Thought can originate, develop and create things, YOUR
things. These thoughts affect your present or future living.

You can project thought, visualize and create things to satisfy
all of things you crave. The only way to do this scientifically

plan. This article is an example of a plan.

Until you actually sit down, decide what you are going to do,
regardless of what the latest fad is, write it down and commit

3. Write it down.

You have heard many times that when you write something down you
are reinforcing your subconscious mind. There is also another
reason. When you wake up in the morning and read your plan, you
are reminded of what you have to do instead of trying to figure
out what you are trying to achieve - AGAIN!

4. Finish what you start.

Do one thing on this plan of yours at a time, without exception.
This will help you to finish. All the entrepreneurs you read
about do several things at a time: you are not at that level
yet.

The people you admire who always seam to have a new product out
every week have teams of people working for them behind the
scenes; most of their work is outsourced, you don't have such
luxuries yet. You will do one thing and do it well. One job
finished will give you more returns on your time than 6 or 7
'sort of' finished products.

You will have to stay focused on the plan or task at hand until
it is finished. This requires discipline. In very plain words,
this means do a bit of what's on your plan everyday, even if you
don't feel like it. Sometimes we hit brick walls and we can't go
on anymore. This is the hard part. This is where you are tempted
to start another project. Don't. Go back and read your plan and
carry on where you just left of. There is no other way to finish.

5. Market your idea.

If you have reached this far into your plan, you are way in
front of the pack. Write one article, put up a Google ad, post
to a forum or put an ad in an ezine. Do at least one thing with
your idea in the market place. This is where it really starts.
Get a result and then go back to the beginning of your plan and
start all over again.

Remember that you are not Donald Trump, Madonna, John Reese or
any other person. Mr Trump has spent more money in a single
transaction than you will ever see in your lifetime. You cannot
compete with that. Deal with it! Stop worrying and wasting time
over things that are completely outside of your control and work
at your own success with your own plan.

Your success will start with your single idea added to your
written plan. You are where you are because of your thoughts and
what you did with them. Stop babying yourself for what you
didn't do or can't do. This doesn't mean that you are not going
to be a success. The future will only complete the plans you
have made in the present. So get to it.

I sometimes will come across sites that just make me cringe the
way they are using Adsense on their pages and wish I could reach
out and help them. Here are my Top 10 ways
to maximize your Adsense earnings

1. Use text ads only. It has been shown that text ads are more
effective than image ads. Personally, I don't use any ad-blocker
browser plugins, but in my mind, I automatically block out
anything that looks like an ad. That's the beauty of text ads,
they blend so nicely with your content, your reader may really
think it is another of your links.

2. Blend your ads. Take the time to use the color palate in
Adsense to blend your ads with your current site style. Your
users will thank you for this and so will your wallet. Take the
time to make the ad link colors the same as your page's.

3. Display only one ad block per page. Remember, without traffic
there is no revenue. Your visitors are there for your content,
not your ads. If you are running a blog, try to space out your
ads between articles.

4. Remove unnecessary links from your page. Remember your
visitors are there for your content, and you want them for their
ad clicks. Any link to an external site is a potentially wasted
ad click. Try to remove superfluous links and focus your
visitors attention firstly to your content, and secondly on your
ads.

5. Use channels to track your progress. Actively use Adsense's
channel feature to track different campaigns you may be running.
Experiment and compare your results over time.

6. Put at least one ad block above the fold. "Above the fold" is
the first portion of the website which is visible to the user,
without needing to scroll.

7. Use section targeting. If your pages are very long and
contain various different topics, Adsense sometimes has time
determining which would be the correct ad to place on your page.
Remember, we always want our visitors to see the most relevant
ad to what they are currently reading. Use section targeting to
divide the different topics on your page. As an example, section
targeting could be used to partition off different blog articles
on a home page.

8. Use Google's Heat Map. Read through Google's article on their
heat map and try to follow by example. They know their own stuff

9. Use high paying keywords. If possible, use high paying
keywords in your site. If there happens to be one portion of
your site which is focused on a high paying keyword, refer to

Some Things to Beware of When Joining An Affiliate Program

Believe it or not, there are some aspects of becoming an
Affiliate to be wary of. It would be prudent to exercise some
caution in order to avoid the pitfalls.

Dear Internet Marketer:

I know it's hard to put a damper on your unbridled enthusiasm
when contemplating the enormous potential profits to be made as
an online Affiliate. It isn't the only way to make money on the
Internet, or even the most profitable, but when done properly,
it can certainly bring in significant sums of money.

Bear in mind one thing - you are not the only one trying to
promote the Affiliate program you have chosen to join. There are
others too who are now competing with you to sell that
particular product. One way to deal with this competition is to
beef up your promotion of this product but that will entail you
being more creative and aggressive in your marketing approach
than your competition. You may be unable or unwilling to put
forth the effort required to give you that competitive edge.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the possibility that
not every affiliate program is above board. There may be
instances where you get stiffed. Most affiliate programs are
honest and they will pay you your commissions but on occasion,
you'll come across a bad apple in the bunch. That's why you need
to conduct some research into the program you wish to join
before you actually sign up as an Affiliate. This is easily
accomplished online by researching any complaints that may have
been lodged. Another way to ensure that you get paid is to join
more than one affiliate program at the same time. If one turns
out to be dishonest, so be it. At least you will get paid on the
others.

Another drawback to being an Affiliate is that you can't have
others as your Affiliates. You will be working alone promoting
the programs you are affiliated with. Only when you have
developed your own products to market online can you get other
people to become Affiliates for you. But that's a whole other
topic of discussion.

All in all, I think the advantages of becoming an Affiliate far
outweigh the disadvantages, but when diving into it, you should
not do so with blind enthusiasm. Do your due diligence and the
rewards will be forthcoming.

I often get asked what the secret is to making money with
Google's AdSense program. This often comes from people who are
dreaming of setting up websites chock full of high-paying
keywords for particular niche subjects and then sitting back and
watching the money roll in. "What's the magic formula?" they ask
me. If they're non-technical, I point them straight to my book,
Make Easy Money with Google, and assure them that they'll learn
everything they need from it. They may think it's hard, but it's
not.

But what about the technical people? By this I mean the people
who've already set up a blog or website, who have registered
domain names, who are comfortable with basic Internet
terminology and concepts. What is the "AdSense formula"?

The only AdSense formula that you need to know is this:

earnings = number of clicks * average price per click

This is what I call the Fundamental AdSense Formula because you
can derive almost every AdSense "secret" directly or indirectly
from this formula. Do you want to earn more with AdSense? You
have two ways of doing it:

1. Increase the number of clicks, and/or

2. Increase the average price per click

Your earnings will only go up if you do one or the other, and
ideally both. It's an obvious formula, yes, but it's amazing how
many people lose sight of it in their quest for increased
AdSense earnings.

Increasing the Number of AdSense Clicks

Increasing the number of times the ads on your site or blog are
clicked is the most obvious strategy. There are two general
strategies you can follow:

1. Increase the traffic to the site, and/or

2. Adjust the ads to make them more "clickable"

Getting traffic is hard and takes time, so don't look at it as a
quick fix. The best way to get traffic is to provide useful,
unique content and to rank highly in search engine rankings for
keywords related to that content. In other words, use standard
search engine optimization techniques. DO NOT "buy" traffic or
use "link farms" or other dubious techniques. Other tips for
getting traffic:

1. Publish articles, even free ones, with links back to your
site.

2. Include a link to your site in the signature at the bottom of
your emails or in any forum postings you make (if the forum
allows it).

3. Participate in forums/groups related to the content of your
site or blog. The key is to participate, not lurk, and don't
just post messages promoting your site.

4. Add comments (relevant ones only, please) to other blogs, you
can usually link back to yours. (This won't help your search
engine rankings, but it may allow others who are reading those
comments to find your own site.)

5. Syndicate your content (trivial if you have a blog) and make
sure that the content is registered with syndication aggregators.

6. List your site in relevant directories.

Adjusting the ads is something you can do almost immediately:

1. Position the ads on the page in order to make them more
noticeable. Google even publishes a helpful heat map (see
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html )
for AdSense publishers.

2. Choose the best AdSense ad format that works for your site.

3. Change the ad colors either to make the ads blend in with
your site or to make them stand out. Again, it varies depending
on the site.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ENTICE VISITORS TO CLICK THE ADS. Google
is very strict about this, see the AdSense program policies
(found at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies ) for the
details.

Increasing the Average AdSense Price Per Click

Increasing the average price per click you receive from AdSense
is the other strategy for increasing your overall AdSense
earnings. You can do this by:

1. Carefully targeting your content, and/or

2. Filtering out and avoiding low-paying ads

Content targeting isn't just about creating relevant, unique
content. It's also making sure that that content is written to
target the higher-paying keywords associated with a given topic.
This means:

1. Figuring out which keyword variations for that topic pay
more. Often the more specialized variations and phrases pay more
than the "generic" terms.

2. Ensuring that the keyword density of the content favors the
higher-paying keyword variations. See

remove ads completely from pages with few or no clicks. Again,

As you can see, there's no magic involved to increasing your
AdSense earnings. The Fundamental AdSense Formula is easy to
understand, but that doesn't mean it's easy to apply the

You may all know about these methods in some way but let's take
a look at the 3 most reliable and efficient ways to boost
traffic to your website in good time.

Being a web developer, I know how to build an attractive and
functional website that is worth more than the price charged to
the customer. If in my head it wasn't adding value, I wouldn't
bother trying to sell it. I soon realised that building the
website was only half of the challenge for my customers, and
gaining traffic was the next. The three main ways that we'll
talk about are paying for traffic, sending an email to your
mailing list (that itself takes time to build) and lastly to
joint venture with another website owner. This means they send
you traffic, and you split profits with them 50:50. You can use
software to track the number of hits produced from their
mailouts.

1. By buying traffic, you can target the people already looking
for your product. The biggest player here is Google. I'm sure
you know them well  For those new to this industry,
whenever you run a google search, the listings that show up on
the right hand side can be bought by anyone. You pay 5 cents and
upwards for each click. You can have traffic showing up to your
website 5 minutes after setting up a Google Adwords account.
Other search engines also offer this 'pay-per-click' (PPC)
service. The next step after paying for traffic is to monitor
results. You can track the number of hits from various sources
to focus on those that are producing sales. Let's say you had 4
different advertising sources producing a total in sales of $200
and you spent a total of $80. That's a profit margin of 250%. If
you were able to see that the $20 you spent with PPC advertiser
A produced 0 dollars in sales and the same for advertiser B.
Advertiser C brought in $20 in sales but advertiser D brought in
a whopping $180 in sales. That's 900% profit and you could then
focus your advertising dollars on that source to maximise
profit. Every type of advertising must have a tracking system
with strong accuracy.

2. Emailing a list is the next method that becomes your greatest
asset with time. There are no overheads and you can create a
huge rush of sales everytime you send an email. In a previous
article I mentioned that a signup should be between 10 and 33%.
That is the percentage of visitors you can expect to sign up to
a mailing list. By having autoresponders, you can attract these
visitors back to your website again. There's a good chance
they'll buy the second time around. If they leave, you can send
them another email to ask them to return and make them keep
returning until they eventually buy.

Knowing how often to send emails to your list is also important.
The key here is to add value and send regular free content.
Imbetween asking them to buy something, send something free that
is of value. Generally, once a month is an appropriate time
period between emails, or more often depending on your market.
Some people send emails three times a day and it works for them
but here's what works for my mentor so that's the best of my
knowledge.

3. Joint Venture.

The strategy is simple, other websites send out emails and place
strategic links on their website to attract visitors to your
website. YUou only pay them for the sales produced from any
clicks. Generally 50% of the profits is the best since it's an
equal share.

The key here is to make it as easy as possible for you JV
partner. Create emails for them, banner ads and any other
promotional material that will help them.

JV deals allow you to create a lot of traffic to your site in a
short period of time and for you to build your mailing lists
very quickly. You can receive JV support from all of the
established companies in the field you wish to enter if you
approach them correctly.

show how to target your main audience and bring them into your

First, let's define the term 'target traffic'. Much like
shooting an arrow into the center of a target, your target
traffic is the core of your customer base, the people who are
truly looking to purchase your product if only they can find
your website. While many visitors may stumble upon your website
and pass through it, not all of them are interested in
purchasing your product. Weed them out, and what you are left
with is your target audience, otherwise known as your target
traffic. These are your true sales prospects, so you've got to
find a way to let them know you're here.

Now let's talk about search engines. Search engines such as
Google and Yahoo afford internet users a way to find what they
are looking for. All a potential customer has to do is type in a
few key words about the topic or item they are looking for and a
search engine will provide them with pages of websites that
contain at least some of that search content. Once they open up
a particular site, they become part of that site's target
traffic.

Upon these search pages, websites will be listed from top to
bottom according to how closely they match the key words typed
in, and how much related content is found at their site. Since
online users typically only check out the first five websites

basically search engine 101. Now let's examine the two main
types of search engines and how they operate in order to put

Organic Search Engines

Organic search engines operate mainly on the keyword system. The
key words a potential customer types into the search bar
determines what sites will be brought up for their perusal.
Simple right? This type of promotion for your website is
basically free, so how can you use it to your advantage and

articles.

Keyword articles are written about various subjects that pertain
to a common topic, with a selected target keyword or keyword
phrase strategically repeated throughout a certain percentage of
the article. For example, if your business sells ATV's, then
articles about ATV's, ATV clubs, ATV trails, and ATV accessories
would provide relevant information while at the same time using
the keyword 'ATV' repeatedly. Post these articles on your ATV
website, and search engines will automatically bring more ATV
target traffic to your door.

You can further expand your target traffic by posting your
keyword articles to E-zines that focus on your field of
interest, in this example the ATV sport. Readers of these online
magazines are already interested in ATV's, so getting them to
your website should be a breeze once they know it's there.

Further keyword article exposure can be gained by linking
agreements with other websites in your field of interest. For
example, you might want to agree to a little sponsorship of an
ATV club's website in order to have a direct link to your own
articles and sales pages. This is just one more way to reach
potential customers and drive target traffic back to your
website.

It really doesn't matter what you're selling, just design your
articles around your product, post them on your website, and
submit them to E-zines that share your target traffic in order
to increase your sales.

Pay Per Click (PPC) Search Engines

Think of this type of search engine as paid advertising. You and
other online companies in the same line of business will bid
against each other for temporary ownership of the best keywords
and keyword phrases. The highest bidder will then have target
traffic sent directly to their website when the keywords are
used in that search engine, but you will pay your bid price to
the search engine company each time the keyword is used. This
will certainly increase your target traffic, and hopefully boost
your sales as well, but it also eats into your profit margin.

Which type of search engine participation is best for bringing
target traffic to your website? The quick answer is either one,
but it really depends on how large your operation is, how much
work you really want to put into increasing your target traffic,
and how much you feel you can afford to pay for it. For large
online businesses, PPC search engines are quite convenient, and
a large budget may more easily absorb pay per click fees.

However, organic search engines are basically free. All you need
do is come up with your keyword articles and you're sure to
increase your target traffic. And if you aren't sure you can
write your own keyword articles, there are companies with the
expertise to provide well written, inexpensive keyword articles
in the proper percentages to get you ranked high in the listings
without getting you thrown out for keyword over-saturation.

Either way, knowing how to use and manipulate both types of
search engines is a sure way to bring target traffic to your

How My Home Business Let Me Leave My 9 To 5 Job

I've been involved with home business in one form or another for
a few years now. Two years ago I left my job to "go it alone" in
making a full-time living on the internet. Like a lot of people,
I've tried various programs and courses, not all of which worked
for me.

My foothold in becoming financially independent lay in combining
my professional skills as a software writer and my hobby of
astronomy. Everyone goes on about finding niche markets so I
ended up writing a piece of software called LunarPhase Pro
that provides all the information about the Moon that amateur
astronomers would ever need, all done in real-time.

So my niche market was amateur astronomy. But, to my surprise,
people from other niches started snapping up my software -
astrologers, stockbrokers, Wiccan, fishermen, military people,
hunters. And they came from all over the world. I even managed
to line up some retail outlets to carry the software.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're starting out in
your own home business, develop something that appeals to you,
something you have direct knowledge of and enthusiasm for. It
gives you a running start compared with having to learn the
ropes in some system or program you haven't got a clue about.

Investors will tell you to diversify your portfolio and internet
marketers talk about multiple streams of income. All sound
advice because if one of your investments or internet income
streams crashes, you won't go down with the ship.

With that in mind, I started looking around for income streams
besides my software. Everything has a shelf life or a sell by
date and, while my software is still selling very well, that may
not always be the case.

I started monetizing my websites using Google Adsense (if you'd

Adsense" webpage) and some other money-generating
programs for websites and make $500-$600 per
month this way. The websites are pretty much on auto-pilot, so
it's effectively free money!

I also became interested in the Home Business market and
researched a number of programs that would potentially boost my
monthly income. Some were good but didn't work for me (not all
programs will work for everyone). Some were just downright
lousy.

The rest I signed up with (not too many so that monitoring or
working with them became unmanageable) and all provide some
level of monthly income (from quite small to reasonably large).
I'm not super-rich but I am financially independent. More than
that, I'm time-rich. I don't waste two hours a day commuting
to/from the office. I set my own hours. I don't have to deal
with Corporate politics and BS. I'm not stressed out any more.
And I have more time with my family and friends.

The programs I've become involved with are listed at my website.
They may work for you. They may not. Each of us has different
wants and needs and different skills. You are the one to decide
what suits your personal circumstances.

To make things easier for myself so I'd have all the tools and
resources I use just a click or two away, I created the

There are a huge number of home business opportunities out
there, so always research any program that takes your interest.
Make sure it's right for you and that it's being run by a solid
company. But if you do pick a program, stick with it. Don't be a
grashopper, jumping from program to program, wondering why
they're not paying dividends. It takes time and commitment to
build an online business. Don't put all your eggs in one basket
- join two or three programs and protect yourself from the
collapse of any one of them.
